Senior Planner
Our client is a highly respected international client-side project management and programme management organisation who are looking to secure the services of an experienced Senior Planner on a major project in Thetford.
The appointed Senior Planner will lead all planning and programming activities on a high profile £150M MOJ construction scheme. The project comprises a new 4-storey houseblock, kitchen, multifaith, external car parks, and extensive cross-site services. You will operate as the lead planning professional and will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project controls, compliance with NEC contract requirements, and successful delivery of all planning related obligations.
This role requires the Senior Planner to seamlessly integrate into the project team and operate as a fully embedded resource for the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programme Leadership:
* Act as the lead planner overseeing the full programme lifecycle from mobilisation to completion.
* Confidently communicate all programme related matters with internal and external senior stakeholders.
* Planning & Programming:
* Develop, maintain, and manage the master project programme using Asta Powerproject.
* Produce mitigation and acceleration programmes as required.
* Capture actual progress, productivity outputs, and as-built information.
* External Reporting:
* Deliver contractual programme updates per NEC Clause 32 requirements (at minimum, monthly):
* Updated programme narratives
* Extracts in both native (.pp) and PDF formats
* Clear identification of float, critical path, and changes
* Prepare and participate in programme progress meetings with the client and stakeholders.
* Risk & Change Management:
* Proactively identify and highlight Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and Proposed Instructions.
* Support the commercial team with programme information and impact assessments.
* Prepare visual and narrative content to explain programme impacts clearly.
* Leadership & Mentoring:
* Direct and support an assigned Project Planner throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Competencies:
* Demonstrated experience in managing large scale construction programmes ideally £100m+ and/or in custodial or secure environments.
* Deep understanding of NEC contracts and compliance.
* Proficiency in planning software (Asta Powerproject).
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
