Site Engineer
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure contractor operating in the UK rail sector. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking a permanent Setting Out Engineer to join their dynamic and professional site engineering team.
As a Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of rail infrastructure projects, ensuring all works are set out and built in accordance with approved designs and specifications. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual looking to develop their career with a company that invests in its people and promotes from within.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Setting out and surveying for rail and civil engineering works (e.g. platforms, drainage, trackside infrastructure)
* Reading and interpreting drawings, ensuring accurate setting out
* Carrying out as-built surveys and producing associated records
* Working closely with the site team to support safe and efficient project delivery
* Managing and maintaining setting out equipment
* Ensuring quality control and compliance with client and industry standards
* Supporting junior engineers and promoting a collaborative site culture
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Setting Out Engineer role, ideally within the rail or civils sector
* CSCS card (engineering or supervisory level)
* Competent in the use of total stations, GPS equipment, and AutoCAD
* Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
* Willingness to travel and work on various project sites as needed
