SALARY: £30,000 – £40,000

A well-established construction company are looking for an Assistant Estimator to joing their team on a permanent basis. The company mainly operate in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector with this business having a strong reputation for delivering high-quality groundwork, drainage, and concrete frame

This role is fully office based in their office in the West Kent area.

THE JOB

As an Assistant Estimator, you’ll become a key member of the commercial team, working alongside experienced professionals to support the preparation and delivery of tenders across a wide range of infrastructure and groundworks schemes. This role is ideal for someone with an eye for detail, excellent organisational skills and a passion for the construction industry — especially those looking to grow within a stable and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare quantity take-offs and assist with compiling detailed cost estimates.

* Analyse project drawings, specifications and other documentation to understand scope and requirements.

* Support the Commercial team in bid preparation and tender submissions.

* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information.

* Update and manage tender registers and ensure all documentation is filed and maintained correctly.

* Work closely with Estimators and Quantity Surveyors to ensure deadlines are met and bids are delivered to a high standard.

* Help track industry trends and price movements to support accurate forecasting.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Experience or qualifications within construction, civil engineering, or a related discipline.

* Basic knowledge of estimating processes or commercial administration.

* Experience with Bluebeam Revu

* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

* Organised, proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

* Previous experience in a similar construction or civils estimating role is beneficial but not essential — training and support will be provided.
