Building Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in London is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to joing their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing safety environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to conduct a desktop review of over 3,000 pre-1920 buildings using Google Maps and existing photographic data to identify potential safety risks associated with parapet walls.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Visually inspect buildings via Google Maps and Upshot photos
• Identify and record presence of parapet walls, corbelling, and any visual defects such as cracks or movement
• Input accurate findings into a tracker to support building risk categorisation and next-stage inspections

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A basic understanding of building construction
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience using mapping tools such as Google Maps or Street View
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Familiarity with housing stock or visual inspection tasks
• Prior experience in desktop surveying or compliance reviews
• Ability to work methodically and independently

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30.00 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £24 per hour PAYE).
