Project Manager

This is a boutique client-side construction business which advises and delivers property development on behalf of many of the industries high profile clients.

Their involvement in a project adapts to suit the client’s needs and can vary from an advisory role at any stage of a project, troubleshooting problem developments, assembling design and construction teams, and delivering entire developments. They lead developments from inception through to completion, specialising in complex projects and always delivering the best for their clients.

Their project portfolio consists of new redevelopments, refurbished buildings and projects in occupied buildings. This can be multi-tenanted and headquarter offices with complementary retail and leisure amenities, hotel and residential accommodation, and premises for cultural and public bodies, with development values ranging from £5M to £100M+. The majority of projects are in central London although they have also worked regionally in the UK (Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Manchester) and in mainland Europe (Barcelona and Paris).

Your remit will include :

Design and Planning

• Managing teams to undertake feasibility studies

• Developing the brief and interrogating concept designs

• Establishing in conjunction with specialist advisers a planning strategy, and then implementing that strategy

• Managing the process of developed and technical design to meet the development brief and strategic programme

• Assess the buildability and viability of design proposals

Procurement

• Assess construction procurement options, promote and champion the agreed procurement strategy

• Run contractor pre-qualification and warm up processes

• Liaise with solicitors to draw up building contracts and consultant appointments

• Oversee the tender production process and manage tender and contract negotiations

• Produce recommendations to appoint contractors and suppliers

Construction Delivery

• Project manage the contractor and design team through the construction process

• Monitor programmes, provide progress reports and forecasts

• Manage the third party interfaces required for the construction process to succeed

• Manage tenant interfaces and review their fit-out proposals

• Ensure projects are handed over to the incoming occupants properly, close out the project and accounts

Corporate

• Involvement with company initiatives on research, personal and business development

• Participation in regular internal project reviews and quarterly corporate reviews

They are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Project Managers , Quantity Surveyors or Design Managers to join our small team working in property development. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of the development cycle from client briefing, design, planning, procurement and construction, with responsibility for managing design and construction teams on a variety of project types and sizes.

Solution is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and analytical individual, with a degree in a relevant discipline, and several years’ post qualification experience in property, construction or design consultancy. Our client needs team players, both in terms of within the company and externally as success centres around creating and leading motivated teams.
