Project Manager

SSA have partnered with a well known Marine and Civils construction company in their search for a Project Manager to lead and deliver marine and civil engineering projects in and around the wider North West region. The role involves managing the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects including port expansions, coastal defences, marine structures, and civils works such as foundations, drainage, and roadworks. You’ll play a key part in supporting infrastructure development in one of the UK’s most important maritime hubs.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead delivery of marine and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Manage construction of marine infrastructure including quays, jetties, berths, slipways, dredging operations, and sea walls.
Oversee associated civil engineering works including groundworks, reinforced concrete structures, access roads, utilities, and drainage.
Engage with stakeholders such as the Peel Ports Group, local authorities, environmental agencies, and contractors.
Prepare and manage detailed project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
Ensure compliance with UK construction standards, CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.
Manage subcontractors, engineers, and site supervisors throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and delays.
Manage procurement, contractual matters, and change control processes. Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline (Chartered status or working toward it preferred).
Minimum 7+ years' experience in delivering marine and/or civil infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of UK marine construction practices and regulatory frameworks.
Experience working on port, harbour, or coastal infrastructure projects in the UK is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Environment Agency requirements, Marine Management Organisation (MMO) permits, and CDM 2015 regulations.
Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites. Key Competencies:
