Fire Stopper
Key Responsibilities
*
Install fire-resistant materials (e.g. batt, mastic, sealants, cavity barriers) to prevent the spread of fire through walls, floors, and ceilings
*
Seal penetrations and joints in fire-rated walls and floors to maintain fire compartmentation
*
Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and firestop system specifications
*
Conduct inspections and ensure all work complies with fire safety regulations and FIRAS standards
*
Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and safety officers to ensure seamless integration of firestop systems
*
Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
Required Skills & Qualifications
*
FIRAS certification or equivalent (essential for most roles)
*
NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (preferred)
*
3–5 years of experience in fire stopping or passive fire protection
*
Strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations and building codes
*
Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications
*
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
*
CSCS card and clean UK driving licence (often required)
*
Must have a IPAF
*
Must hold a British Passport
