Senior Planner – Major Civil Engineering Projects

Senior Planner with experience of working on major civil engineering projects within the rail, water, highways, and nuclear sectors. The initial contract is for nine months, focusing on supporting projects during their closure and handover phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead planning efforts to support the closure and handover phases of major civil engineering programmes
Integrate inputs from various planning team members into a cohesive and accurate programme
Ensure alignment with NEC contract requirements, including periodic updates and reporting
Perform elements of forensic planning, where required, to validate progress or resolve disputes
Maintain and update schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring clarity, logic, and accuracy
Liaise regularly with stakeholders across engineering, commercial, and leadership teams
Prepare and present programme information and status reports for senior leadership
Ensure that programme reporting and analysis support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience working within major civil engineering programmes in the rail, water, highways, and nuclear sectors
Expert user of Primavera P6
Deep knowledge of programme integration and cross-discipline coordination
Experience with forensic planning techniques and delay analysis beneficial
Sound understanding of NEC contracts and related programme requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interface at all levels of an organisation
Collaborative team player with the ability to lead planning workshops and build stakeholder consensus
