M&E Engineer
An exciting opportunity has opened for a skilled and motivated Lead M&E Engineer to take charge of mechanical and electrical operations on a high-profile site in West London. This is a chance to step into a leadership position within a respected facilities management provider that delivers tailored solutions across a wide range of commercial environments.
The Role
As Lead M&E Engineer, you will oversee daily operations, supervise a team of engineers and contractors, and maintain a hands-on role in both planned and reactive maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in building services and a proactive approach to leadership, compliance, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring effective service delivery
Carry out and support PPM and reactive maintenance tasks, including:
Emergency lighting testing and remedials
PAT testing
HVAC and water systems servicing, inspections, and fault diagnosis
Plumbing, water hygiene, and treatment tasks
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards and site-specific compliance
Conduct site audits and implement best practice maintenance procedures
Track and report on KPIs and SLAs, taking action to resolve performance issues
Serve as a technical point of contact for both client representatives and internal teams
Prepare accurate quotations, source materials, and update documentation through internal systems
Promote safe working practices and a positive on-site culture
Qualifications & Experience
NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Background in building maintenance or facilities management (mechanical & electrical focus)
Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
Strong knowledge of RAMS, statutory compliance, and health & safety regulations
Hands-on skills across general maintenance, including plumbing, basic carpentry, and electrical repairs
Competent with handheld technology and reporting tools
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable: Full UK Driving Licence
