Network Operations Engineer

A fast-growing EV charging company is on a mission to develop one of the UK’s largest networks of destination charging stations. Backed by major investors and collaborating with well-known partners across retail, leisure, hospitality, and real estate—including Merlin Entertainments, National Trust, Greene King, Aviva, ABRDN, and McArthurGlen—the company is building a user-friendly, reliable charging experience seamlessly integrated into drivers’ destinations.
With a passionate team focused on sustainability, the company is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to help deliver exceptional uptime and smooth network performance across its expanding EV infrastructure.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Operations & Customer Experience Manager, you will ensure optimal performance of the charging network through real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor real-time network status for EV charging stations, diagnosing and addressing faults.
Resolve technical issues and coordinate repairs with internal teams, technical experts, and external contractors.
Raise and track work and purchase orders for maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate documentation on incidents, repairs, and maintenance.
Configure chargers in the back-office system and update public-facing platforms accordingly.
Provide remote technical support to EV drivers and site staff through various channels (e.g., email, phone, social media).
Onboard and configure new charging stations.
Manage post-installation operational relationships with key accounts.
Oversee third-party O&M partners, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements.
Conduct on-site audits and troubleshooting when required.
Maintain a detailed database of site-level infrastructure and components.
Lead small-scale network improvement projects.
Actively participate in team meetings and collaborative problem-solving.
Your Profile
Knowledge & Skills
Solid understanding of electrical and civil engineering; experience in EV charging, telecommunications, or renewable energy is advantageous.
Familiarity with non-domestic AC/DC chargers (e.g., ChargePoint, Alpitronic, Tritium).
Strong troubleshooting abilities and commitment to high standards and KPIs.
Comfortable managing programmes and workstreams (personal and external).
Proficiency with Office 365 and web-based systems; experience with Site Tracker and CPO back offices (e.g., ChargePoint NOS) is beneficial.

Experience
Background in electrical engineering or similar.
Experience in electrical infrastructure/network operations.
EV charging industry experience in a CPO or charging station OEM.
Customer support/service/complaints handling experience is advantageous.
Qualifications
Qualified electrician and/or degree in a STEM field (or equivalent).
Full driving licence required.
