The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be based out of the company’s Stansted office and take commercial lead on multiple construction projects up to £5m in value. You’ll be responsible for managing project finances from award through to final account, working closely with clients, consultants, and delivery teams to ensure profitability and high standards are maintained throughout. This is a great opportunity for an experienced QS looking to take ownership of projects within a growing regional contractor.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the commercial aspects of new build and refurbishment schemes across a range of sectors.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation, and track project costs throughout the lifecycle.
• Assess and value subcontractor packages, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
• Monitor and manage variations, valuations and interim payments.
• Work closely with the delivery team to ensure financial performance aligns with operational progress.
• Attend client and project meetings as required and build positive working relationships.
• Prepare and agree final accounts, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
• Track record of delivering projects in the £1m–£5m range across new build and refurbishment.
• Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of construction contracts and procedures.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own projects.
• Ideally located within commuting distance of Stansted.
