About the Company:

Our client is a multi-award-winning regional main contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the education, commercial, healthcare, and social infrastructure sectors. As they continue to grow, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic commercial team and take the commercial lead on key live projects.

Role Overview:

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, the Project Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for one or more projects depending on value and complexity. You will be involved from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring value is maximised and risk is managed across the delivery phase.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage all commercial aspects of live projects from start to completion.

* Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.

* Procure subcontractors and manage the full tendering process.

* Assess and value subcontractor accounts, payments, and variations.

* Work closely with site teams to manage change control and monitor costs.

* Prepare and present CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and financial reports.

* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are met.

* Ensure contract compliance and manage risk appropriately.

* Contribute to project performance reviews and post-contract analysis.

Requirements:

* Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a main contractor.

* Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.

* Demonstrable experience in sectors such as education, healthcare, or commercial construction.

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent).

* Proficient in commercial software tools and MS Office.

* Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
