A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Consultant to join their expanding Construction Health & Safety team. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to lead design risk management across a variety of exciting projects including healthcare, infrastructure, education, commercial, and residential developments.

You'll work directly with clients and project teams, embedding health and safety from the earliest design stages and ensuring full compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Principal Designer duties across a range of complex construction projects under CDM 2015.
Lead design risk management workshops and support the elimination and control of risks at design stage.
Provide expert CDM and health & safety advice to clients and design teams throughout the pre-construction phase.
Compile, review, and manage Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and Health & Safety Files.
Conduct site visits and CDM inspections to monitor compliance and advise on corrective actions.
Chair and facilitate design team meetings and stakeholder coordination sessions.
Support and mentor junior health & safety professionals within the team.
Contribute to business development, including tender submissions and client relationship management. Experience
Essential:

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
Proven experience acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015.
Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and design risk management principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and maintain CDM documentation including PCI packs, risk registers, and Health & Safety Files.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
Competent using Microsoft Office and MS Teams. Desirable:

Degree in a construction-related discipline (e.g., Architecture, Engineering, Surveying).
Experience in high-risk or complex sectors such as healthcare, science & technology, or industrial.
Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDEs).
Membership with a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, APS, RIBA, ICE, CIOB, CABE).
