Site Manager
Site Manager £40m Cat A Refurb | City of London
Permanent | Competitive salary + comprehensive package
Let's be honest: if you've managed a flagship refurb that turned out to be a glorified repaint, two skips, and a panic-buy on materials. This is not that job.
This is a £40m Cat A refurbishment in the heart of the City of London a reception, café, shower block (for the Lycra commuters), lift lobbies, and landscaping setup grand enough to keep the wellness crowd nodding approvingly.
You'll be working with one of the UK's best commercial fit-out & refurb contractors. 90% of their work comes from repeat business (because apparently doing the job properly does still count). Founded back when Harold Macmillan said we'd never had it so good clearly, he hadn't seen a QS's variation log.. Still relevant. Still respected. Still not run by someone who thinks RAMS is a type of farm animal.
Carbon neutral for 5yrs+. Proper training. Solid leadership. A team that actually supports site staff instead of just emailing how's it going? from the comfort of head office.
You'll need to be the sort who can:
· Work within a team on a big refurb site without chaos or caffeine-induced meltdowns
· Manage trades, programmes, and clients ideally with some grace
· Juggle progress tracking, delivery delays, and the weekly can we just design changes
· Keep things moving, even when the drawings are still being finalised
What you won't need to do:
· Chase missing deliveries like they're mythical creatures
· Rebuild the job in your own time because someone forgot the insulation
· Babysit subcontractors who think deadlines are a suggestion
I know this ad's had a bit of fun, but I'm a serious recruiter, working with a serious contractor, on a seriously good opportunity.
