Estimator

Avocet Recruitment is working alongside a well-established carpentry contractor based in Bristol, known for delivering high-quality workmanship across a wide range of residential and commercial projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in securing new projects by preparing accurate cost estimates, identifying project requirements, and liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse carpentry projects from tender to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for carpentry and joinery works

* Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications

* Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams

* Conduct site visits as required to assess work and gather information

* Maintain cost databases and ensure competitive pricing

* Prepare and submit tender documents and pricing schedules

* Assist in project handover to operations teams

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or carpentry sector

* Strong understanding of joinery, carpentry materials, and construction processes

* Excellent numerical and analytical skills

* Proficient in estimating software, MS Office, and take-off tools

* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

* Strong communication and negotiation skills

* High attention to detail and organisational abilities

* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
