Site Manager
Astute's Renewables Team are currently recruiting a Site Manager to support the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project based in the Central Belt of Scotland. This is an immediate start contract expected to run for 8-12 weeks, with potential for future projects to follow.
The day rate for the Site Manager is up to £500.00 per day.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the Site Manager role:
Oversee day-to-day site operations on a high-profile BESS installation
Manage subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring safety and quality compliance
Coordinate and report on project progress with the client and internal teams
Take the lead on electrical elements of the build – strong electrical bias essential
Ensure all works are delivered in line with relevant HSEQ and industry standards
Maintain daily site records, RAMS, and health & safety documentation
Ensure adherence to programme, managing site logistics and resource planning
Contribute to commissioning preparation and project handover
Act as point of contact for all on-site activities
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Site Manager on BESS projects (essential)
Strong electrical background and understanding of grid-scale systems (essential)
SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent site safety certification preferred
Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship available
Full UK driving licence
