Role
Our client is a well-established and expanding main contractor with a current turnover of approximately £50m and a clear trajectory for further growth. Based on the Essex/London borders, the business specialises in delivering complex and meaningful construction projects across the public sector.
Their project portfolio includes a strong pipeline of new build and refurbishment schemes valued up to £20m, with consistent repeat business from key public sector clients.
As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in leading and delivering multiple live projects simultaneously across London and the South East. You’ll work closely with the Operations Director and lead site delivery teams, ensuring all projects meet the company’s standards for safety, quality, programme and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the successful delivery of 2–3 projects at a time
* Lead and support project and site teams, including Site Managers and subcontractors
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards
* Monitor programme performance, cost control, and contract compliance
* Collaborate with internal design, commercial and procurement teams
* Act as a key client liaison for public sector stakeholders
* Contribute to strategic operational planning and future project mobilisation
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager ready to step up)
* Solid background in public sector construction – education, healthcare, social housing etc.
* Strong knowledge of both Design & Build and Traditional Build forms of contract
* Able to manage multiple projects concurrently (up to £20m value)
* Based within commuting distance of South Woodford
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel across London/South East
* Must be open to a non-hybrid, full-time site/office role (no remote working)
