Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Restoration Projects

Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor with around a year of experience, ready to take your next step in a unique and highly specialised sector?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading contractor renowned for delivering complex restoration and masonry packages across London and the South East. They’re now looking to bring in an Assistant QS to support their commercial team on some of the region’s most iconic and architecturally significant projects.

The Role:
You’ll be joining a growing restoration division, supporting the commercial delivery of traditional stonework and façade packages ranging from £100k to £4m. Working closely with two Senior Quantity Surveyors, you’ll gain hands-on experience across live sites — with exposure to heritage construction techniques, Tier 1 contractor interfaces, and complex project delivery.

Typical responsibilities will include:

Assisting with take-offs, measurements and BOQ preparation
Supporting cost plans, tender submissions and commercial reports
Managing variations and assisting with interim valuations
Liaising with subcontractors and verifying payment applications
Attending site meetings and contributing to stakeholder progress updates
Helping to close final accounts and maintain contractual compliance Who They’re Looking For:

Around 1 year of experience in a Graduate QS, Assistant QS or Commercial Assistant role
Degree or HNC-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar
Strong with numbers, commercially aware, and keen to learn the ropes in specialist restoration
A confident communicator with a collaborative approach and long-term career mindset
