Contracts Manager, Parrott Construction, Kempston

We specialise in delivering high-quality residential and commercial new build and refurbishment projects for both public and private sectors across East Anglia and South-East England.
We are currently expanding our team and are looking to recruit for the following full time position:
JOB TITLE: CONTRACTS MANAGER
RESPONSIBLE TO: Construction Director
KEY ROLE: Supervision of 3-6 projects controlled by Site Managers
LOCATION: Based at Head Office in Kempston, with regular visits to sites
JOB DUTIES
- Act on behalf of Parrott Construction in contact with the client and their representatives on contractual matters. Co-ordinate all parties involved. Process correspondence, minutes and similar to relevant people.
- Make application for issue of contractual documentation that may be required.
- Ensure that Site Managers are identifying and recording variations to the priced work. Liaise with Buyer/Quantity Surveyor on any changes/instructions that occur on site.
- Arrange the issue of incoming information to relevant persons within the Company – i.e. drawings, specifications and amendments throughout the contract.
- Allocate resources to the individual sites and ensure such are being used effectively and efficiently to achieve programme, and the specified product.
- Initiate the project by arrangement of both internal and external pre-contract meetings, production of contract programme in conjunction with the Site Manager, draw up a site set-up plan with the Site Manager and agree on allocation of resources.
- Draw up the main programme for the Contract and issue to relevant parties.
- Monitor progress of the contracts against the main programme. Ensure the Site Managers prepare and update short-term programmes as necessary. Prepare programme if Site Manager is unable to for any reason.Arrange the Sub-contractor Co-ordination Meetings at relevant intervals and timings. Attend main Site Meetings and Service Co-ordination Meetings. Prepare the Contractors Reports for the Site Meetings.
- Health and Safety overview at all times.
- Maintain Quality Assurance
- Liaise between Site Manager and Buying Department to ensure materials and sub contracts are resourced to suit the programme. Produce programme of required dates for placing of subcontract orders by the QS.
- Carry out ‘Site Contract Management Audit’ on monthly basis, applying principles at all times.
- Monitor temporary accommodation, site welfare, hospitality to ensure the site is correctly presented.
- Develop design and monitor/control design process on Design and Build contracts.
- Quality inspection including SQI1 sign off.
- Supervise Site Managers/Supervisors
- Maintain Parrott Construction standards – both quality of product and service.
- Understanding of form of contract and company role.
- Deal with approval of subcontract/supplier drawings.
- Educate/ensure (training) adequate knowledge of Site Manager – highlight needs.
- Collate all completion certificates, as built drawings, Test Certificates required for practical completion.
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 through the Business Management System (BMS).
- Collate & Produce information to enable production of the O&M Manual and Health & Safety file as appropriate.
