Our client is a well-established, family-run building contractor and property maintenance company specialising in commercial and domestic repairs, planned and responsive maintenance, and larger refurbishments across the Midlands. With a strong, long-term client base-including pub groups, housing associations, universities, and local authorities-they have built a reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable work. Their projects range from small works worth a few thousand pounds to refurbishments up to £500,000.
They are now seeking a Small Works Estimator to join the team, reporting to the Estimating Director. This role will suit someone with a trade background who is comfortable with the end-to-end estimating process, including site visits, pricing, and client liaison.
You will be estimating for projects such as pub refurbishments (£50,000-£300,000), social housing maintenance and refurbishments, and university building works (up to £100,000). The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of social housing and its specific requirements.

Responsibilities
Attend site visits across the Midlands to survey works required.
Compile accurate estimates based on client specifications.
Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Liaise with clients professionally, advising and updating them throughout the process.
Produce and submit quotes in a timely manner.
Use Microsoft Office proficiently to produce documentation and maintain records.Small Works Estimator
Requirements
Trade background (desirable) with strong practical understanding of construction and refurbishment projects.
Previous experience in estimating within social housing, commercial refurbishments, or similar environments.
Confident using Microsoft Office; familiarity with schedule of rates is advantageous.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing multiple estimates.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
