About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Associate Director – Façades to lead our façade consultancy division in the Midlands. This is a senior leadership role with strategic, technical, and operational responsibilities, playing a vital role in driving business growth, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality façade engineering solutions across a range of complex projects.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of façade systems, strong commercial awareness, and a proven track record of leadership in consultancy or specialist contractor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of façade engineers, consultants, and technical specialists across multiple projects.

Provide expert advice on façade design, performance, materials, and compliance from concept through to delivery.

*

Maintain oversight of all technical outputs, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Develop and nurture client relationships, supporting business development and strategic partnerships.

*

Drive the growth of the façade division in the Midlands, contributing to business planning, resourcing, and profitability.

*

Support bids, tenders, and fee proposals with technical and commercial input.

Requirements:

*

Degree-qualified in façade engineering, architecture, structural engineering, or a related discipline.

*

Minimum 10 years' experience within the façade industry, with at least 3 years in a senior or associate/director-level role.

*

Extensive knowledge of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, glazing systems, and full building envelope solutions.

*

Strong understanding of UK building regulations, façade testing standards (e.g., CWCT), and fire performance requirements.

*

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex, high-value projects.

*

Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

Desirable:

Chartered status (CEng, MICE, MIFireE, or similar) or membership of a relevant professional body.

*

Experience in façade remediation, recladding, and compliance with the Building Safety Act.

*

Established network within the construction and façade consultancy sectors.
