M&E Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary / Purpose of Role

Working within the commercial department providing cost and revenue management on major contracts. You will communicate with all relevant members of the project team. The role requires you to support the Commercial Manager in maximising the financial strength of the business and customer satisfaction whilst minimising any potential risks. Undertake additional duties as required.

Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

Contract administration, ensuring all contracts are administered correctly, in a timely and professional manner.

Identify, mitigate, and manage risks and opportunities; escalate when appropriate.

*

Monitor and drive the progress of Compensation Events to agreement by liaising with clients’ representatives.

*

Identify, notify, and report financial concerns and areas requiring action to the project management team.

*

Involve and obtain information from key project personnel for CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reporting with the Commercial Manager.

*

Prepare template CVRs for each project as required.

*

Monitor and record site progress from information provided by the Project Manager.

*

Collate project manpower and productivity data for submission to clients for applications.

*

Prepare monthly progress payment applications and follow up on payments.

*

Prepare/validate payments for subcontractors and suppliers to agreed dates.

*

Assist in claims preparation in coordination with the Project Manager/Director.

*

Provide advice on contractual claims.

*

Prepare final accounts upon contract completion.

*

Attend necessary internal and external meetings.

*

Maintain professional relationships with clients and the supply chain.

*

Communicate effectively as part of a team, ensuring queries are resolved quickly.

*

Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties as required by the Commercial Manager.

Job Requirements / Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

*

Background in M&E quantity surveying.

*

Understanding of engineering contracting environments, especially NEC contract conditions.

*

Excellent organisational skills.

*

Ability to meet deadlines.

Willingness to learn on the job and develop within the company.

Education / Qualifications

*

Minimum: HNC in Quantity Surveying (M&E) or equivalent.

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

*

Strong commercial awareness.

*

Teamwork and communication skills.

Technical understanding relevant to the role
