Location: Cornwall
The Role: We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Site Agent to lead the successful completion of a significant section on a major National Highways infrastructure project. You will be instrumental in driving the project towards its final stages, ensuring works are delivered safely, to the highest quality, on programme, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a designated section of the highway upgrade project.
Programme & Production: Drive efficient production, monitor progress against critical path, and implement recovery strategies to meet completion deadlines.
Health, Safety & Quality: Champion a robust HSEQ culture, ensure strict compliance with standards, and maintain impeccable quality control throughout all phases.
Team & Subcontractor Management: Lead, motivate, and manage site teams, engineers, and specialist subcontractors.
Commercial Acumen: Proactively manage costs, variations, and contractual matters for your section.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with the client (National Highways), design teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project close-out.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience as a Site Agent on large-scale highways or major infrastructure projects, ideally with experience in project completion phases.
Strong understanding of National Highways standards and requirements.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrable expertise in programme management, cost control, and risk mitigation.
SMSTS and First Aid at Work certifications are essential.
A valid UK driving license.
