The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of clean and wastewater networks… from planning and monitoring to quality control and emergency response. This includes:
* Managing clean water and wastewater connections, commissioning, sampling, inspections, and maintenance
* Overseeing fault reporting, resolution, and escalation procedures with service providers
* Ensuring full compliance with Ofwat, DWI, Environment Agency and other UK water quality standards
* Leading asset management processes, document control, and technical records
* Supporting site inspections, auditing, and the onboarding of new developments
* Maintaining operation and maintenance schedule for clean water infrastructure and pumping stations
* Assisting with emergency planning for supply interruptions or contamination incidents
Experience required
* 5+ years’ experience in a water utility or multi-utility operations role
* Strong knowledge of UK water regulations and operational standards (e.g. WIRS, ISO 9001)
* Experience managing construction-phase water infrastructure, audits, and commissioning
* Familiarity with root cause analysis, quality planning, and non-conformance processes
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and IT proficiency (Microsoft Office)
* A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and process improvement
