Senior or Junior Fire Quantity Surveyor Housing
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior or Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the lifecycle of domestic and construction projects. Many projects may be in Social housing and council as well. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods, accurate surveying, pricing of fire safety works and good understanding of firesurveys and the ability to provide accurate financial advice to stakeholders.
Typical project types include:
* Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works, Front Entrance Door (FED) and communal doorset replacements. Estate regeneration schemes. Kitchens and bathrooms (K&B’s) upgrades. External repairs and refurbishments Window and door replacements. Internal and external property refurbishments. Retrofit works External works and adaptations
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting
* Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
* Preparation and negotiation of variations and change control
* Liaising with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
* Supporting contract administration and risk management
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a main contractor
* Familiarity with social housing, refurbishment or regeneration works is advantageous
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* A methodical, commercially aware approach with attention to detail
Duties
* Prepare and maintain accurate cost estimates for Domestic and construction projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
* Conduct thorough feasibility studies to assess project viability and financial implications.
* Monitor project expenditure and implement cost control measures to optimise financial performance.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of the project are financially viable.
* Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
* Provide regular reports on financial status, including forecasts and variances, to key stakeholders.
* Assist in dispute resolution related to costs and contracts as necessary.
* Travelling to multiple sites across London and surrounding regions.
What you need to succeed
* Experience with Fire risk assessments
* Good understanding of scheduling rates
* Qualified to BM Trada and Firas
* Will consider Junior or Senior applicants.
