Design Director – ARV-6918
A rapidly scaling manufacturer of Light Gauge Steel Frame systems is looking for a Design Director to join the team. Along with a salary of circa £90,000 per annum, you will also receive a car allowance/company car, private healthcare, a bonus scheme, pension contributions, 33 days holiday (plus bank holidays), equity participation opportunities in developer schemes and the opportunity to work in a brand-new office!
This is a rare opportunity to take the lead of a new division within a fast-growing and highly innovative light gauge steel business. They are renowned for delivering cutting-edge, sustainable, and highly efficient structural solutions for major residential and commercial developers.
As Design Director, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and growing a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team.
Providing strategic and technical direction, driving innovation and efficiency across all projects.
Managing divisional P&L, ensuring operational performance aligns with growth objectives.
Overseeing the integration of design and detailing systems with manufacturing and site delivery.
Collaborating with senior leadership to support business development and expansion across England.
Driving R&D initiatives, keeping the business at the forefront of LGSF innovation.
What we’re looking for in a Design Director:
Chartered Engineer with extensive senior technical experience in LGSF manufacturing or consultancy.
In-depth knowledge of structural design, detailing, and the LGSF supply chain.
Proven leader, able to inspire, mentor and develop high-performing technical teams.
Passionate about innovation with a collaborative approach to working across design, manufacturing, and site delivery.
Established relationships in the UK construction and LGSF sectors are highly advantageous.
