My client, a national contractor with a turnover more than £200 million, is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in their team in Banwell.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:

* You'll work on a £7 million project in Banwell.

* This one-year NEC contract includes a variety of activities focused on site clearance, excavation, and utility diversion works.

* You will be visible on-site (4 days per week), closely monitoring the project's cost performance and contract administration to ensure successful delivery.

* Take accountability for the financial and contractual performance of your projects.

* Oversee projects’ financial performance, ensuring profit target and efficiency savings are achieved and our cash position is maximised.

* Adhere to contractual timescales and administer change control appropriately.

* Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively.

* Deliver a compliant procurement process and selection, in line with our procedures.

* Deal with commercial queries and advise on legal matters, including risks and disputes.

* Manage the Supply Chain effectively, building trusted partnerships with our suppliers:

* Ensure all suppliers are fully compliant before any orders are issued.

* Conduct audits as and when required.

* Administer the contract effectively, including preparation and negotiation of claims, and payments of subcontractors in accordance with contractual timescales.

* Monitor the progress of works and report on project performance:

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial logs, cost plans and project forecasts.

* Undertake monthly reporting, including Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), Cost Value Reconciliation (CRV) and commentaries, in line with requirements.

Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with:

* Proven and recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role

* Ability to work independently without supervision

* General knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration

* Evidence of building effective relationships with teams

* Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines

* Experience in a civil engineering environment

* Good level IT proficience and general knowledge of cost management software and tools

* Understanding of Lean principles (desirable)
