Quantity Surveyor

My client, a national contractor with a turnover more than £200 million, is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in their team in Weston-super-mare..
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:

Maintain a strong on-site presence (4 days per week) to oversee cost performance and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Drive financial performance across projects by maximising profit margins, improving efficiency, and optimising cash flow.
*
Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities.
*
Lead and support audits as required to ensure commercial and contractual governance.
*
Oversee contract administration, including claim preparation, subcontractor payments, and commercial negotiations in line with agreed timelines.
*
Track project progress and performance, maintaining detailed financial records, forecasts, and cost plans.
*
Produce timely and accurate monthly reports, such as Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs), and supporting commentary.
Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with:

Demonstrated success in Quantity Surveying roles, with a consistent track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes.
*
Confident working independently and managing responsibilities without close supervision.
*
Solid understanding of cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting processes.
*
Experienced in meeting project deadlines and delivering under pressure.
*
Background in civil engineering projects, with familiarity across various project phases.
*
Competent in IT systems, with working knowledge of cost management tools and software.
*
Awareness of Lean principles and their application in project delivery (desirable).
