About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a degree-qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join our growing cost management team. This is an ideal role for someone looking to collaborate with experienced professionals, including senior quantity surveyors and building surveyors, on a range of innovative projects that are shaping the future of our industry. With a dynamic and expanding department, we are looking for a dedicated individual to fill this key position, depending on their level of experience.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to support and meet project objectives. You will be an active contributor to team efforts, showing autonomy and initiative when required. By applying a systematic and resourceful approach to your tasks, you will help ensure the success of various projects. You will also be responsible for providing accurate information on both commercial and contractual matters, helping to keep projects running smoothly.
Your duties will include estimating and cost planning, producing tender documents and bills of quantities, preparing contract documents, and conducting valuations and reviewing variations. You will also be responsible for producing monthly cost reports, preparing financial reports for clients, and managing contract administration. Furthermore, you will play an active role in conducting and contributing to client meetings
About the Requirements
We are looking for someone with strong numerate skills who can present financial information in different formats. You should have a genuine drive to build a successful career in quantity surveying, with a positive attitude toward continual learning and development. As a team player, you will need to work collaboratively while also demonstrating self-motivation and initiative in contributing to project outcomes.
Passion for the field is key, as we are looking for someone who is eager to engage actively with their work. Additionally, you must be confident and articulate, with the ability to communicate clearly in a client-facing role. Experience in the construction industry or knowledge of its activities will be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. While experience working on one or more contracts is desirable, it is not a strict requirement. Additionally, experience within the residential sector is preferred, though not essential. It would also be beneficial if the candidate is a RICS Chartered Surveyor or is close to achieving chartered status.
