Document Controller
Jark Cambridge are currently recruting on behalf of one of our clients for a Construction Document Controller
to be based on a large construction site in central Cambridge.
The starte date of this role is early September. Our client is happy to consider suitable candidates on either a permanent or contract basis.
The hours of work can be fleixble in the afternoon but you must be able to work 5 mornings a week from 8am.
Key duties include organizing, maintaining, and distributing project-related information, ensuring accuracy, and adhering to company standards for document management. This role also involves using document management systems, collaborating with project teams, and potentially interacting with external parties
Document Management:
Setting up, organizing, and maintaining project documents, including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence
Document Distribution:
Distributing documents to relevant parties, both internally and externally, and managing document transmittals.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of document revisions, approvals, and distribution.
Quality Control:
Ensuring that documents are accurate, complete, and adhere to company standards.
System Management:
Utilizing document management systems (e.g., ASITE, BIW, 4Projects) to manage and track documents.
Communication:
Liaising with project teams, stakeholders, and potentially external parties regarding document-related matters.
Archiving:
Managing the archiving and disposal of documents according to company policies and legal requirements
Skills Required
Organizational Skills:
Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain accurate records.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in document management.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and information exchange.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with document management systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and potentially other relevant software.
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of construction industry terminology, processes, and standard
Qualifications Required
Prior experience in a document control or administrative role, preferably within the construction industry
