£40,000 + (Depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:55am – 3:45pm; Friday, 6:55am – 2:45pm. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional with a strong background in manufacturing or construction? This company are looking for a confident and experienced Health & Safety Lead to join their team in Wolverhampton.
This company specialise in steel manufacturing and steel construction. They are market leaders for what they do and have won many awards. They complete projects from start to finish, starting with design and manufacture all the way through to installation and delivery. They work on a broad range of projects and use a number of construction solutions.
This is a key role within the business, working closely with Directors and Senior Management Team to develop, implement, and maintain a positive health and safety culture across the organisation. You'll act as the first point of contact for all Health and Safety matters, taking the lead on accident reporting, audits, training, inspections, and ongoing compliance with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary contact for all Health & Safety queries across the business.
* Lead on accident reporting, investigation, and resolution.
* Manage internal and external Health & Safety audits, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
* Develop and maintain health and safety training systems and ensure ongoing staff competency.
* Monitor and report on site safety practices daily, weekly, and monthly.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and internal systems (including ISO9001 and ISO14001).
* Review and update risk assessments, COSHH records, and Safe Systems of Work.
* Produce regular KPI reports and assist in identifying and solving safety-related issues.
* Perform daily quality checks and ensure corrective actions are taken as needed.
About You:
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential.
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations.
* Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
* Proven experience in developing H&S procedures in line with industry best practices.
* Skilled in using data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
* Experience in manufacturing, construction, or steel sectors is highly desirable.
