About the Role
A well-established, RICS-regulated national surveying practice is expanding and seeking experienced professionals to join its expert team. We are inviting applications from Chartered Members of the CIOB (MCIOB / FCIOB) and Building Surveyors with strong experience in building pathology, residential and commercial property inspection, and housing disrepair reporting.
You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality surveys, condition reports, and expert witness statements. This is an excellent opportunity for construction professionals with an analytical mindset and a passion for technical detail who want flexibility, autonomy, and the support of a professional back-office team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed building and condition surveys on residential and commercial properties
- Identify defects and diagnose root causes using your building pathology knowledge
- Produce accurate repair cost assessments and high-quality written reports
- Provide expert input on housing disrepair matters and other technical disputes
- Manage your own workload and appointments, supported by an internal admin and scheduling team
- Maintain the highest standards in line with CIOB and RICS codes of conduct
Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from professionals with:
- MCIOB or FCIOB status – or CABE, AssocRICS, MRICS, or FRICS qualifications
- A proven track record in building surveying, building pathology, or defect analysis
- Strong understanding of residential construction and disrepair issues
- Excellent report-writing and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, self-managing approach to workload and client liaison
- A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
