Contract Scotland are working on behalf of a well-established fit-out contractor to source an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a 12-month freelance assignment starting in August.

This is a site-based role on a £4m fit-out project in Glasgow. We are looking for a proactive and hands-on safety professional who can help ensure compliance and foster a strong safety culture on site.

The role:
– Overseeing all aspects of health and safety on a busy construction site.
– Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards.
– Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
– Supporting the site team with safety documentation and method statements.
– Liaising with subcontractors to promote best safety practices.

Requirements:
– NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
– Proven experience working on construction sites, ideally commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects.
– Excellent communication and organisational skills.
– Ability to engage effectively with trades, site managers, and senior stakeholders.
– Available to commit to a 12-month contract on a freelance basis.
