Our client is a well established specialist sub-contractor based on the Stowmarket area. Due to organic growth, they are looking for a Junior / Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team. The successful individual will either be a graduate within a construction focused discipline or already working within the construction sector but wanting to become a quantity surveyor.

Within this team, you will be supporting the Quantity Surveyors to price works and obtain quotes for jobs from suppliers. You will be working in and out of the office attending site on occasion. The role involves processing a lot of financial information and spreadsheets so if you enjoy maths and calculations and have an interest in the Construction industry this could be the role for you.

The work is fast paced as they have multiple projects on site at any time. Supporting the Quantity Surveyors will mean that days can be unpredictable, and actions may need to be completed quickly – this can be exciting and rewarding but also demanding

ROLE:

* Pricing works using a schedule of rates

* Obtaining quotes from Suppliers & Sub-Contractors

* Completing progress reports

* Attending Site Meetings with Project Delivery Teams and providing Site Measurements

* Verifying Sub-Contractor / Supplier applications for payment

* Placing Purchase Orders

* Updating IT Management Systems with Job Information

CANDIDATE:

* Good levels of education to GSE / A Level with maths being essential

* Will look at graduate or part qualified quantity surveyors

* Good knowledge of word and excel

* Willingness to learn

* Driving licence and own car essential for this role

* Willing to be put through a foundation degree in Quantity Surveying on a day release basis
