Facades Engineer – Tier 1 Contractor

We are partnering with one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 building contractors, currently delivering a landmark development in the heart of Edinburgh city centre. As the project progresses through its early stages, they are now seeking a motivated Facades Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project and gain invaluable experience alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry. You will support the Facades Manager in coordinating design, procurement, and delivery of a technically challenging façade package—ensuring quality, programme, and safety objectives are met throughout.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate façade designs with internal teams and external specialists
Review technical drawings, specifications, and submittals
Ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards
Manage subcontractors and monitor installation on site
Lead value engineering initiatives and resolve technical challenges
Maintain documentation and support handover processes
Ideal Candidate
Previous experience with façade or envelope packages, either with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
Solid technical knowledge of curtain walling, cladding systems, and façade interface coordination.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Degree or equivalent qualification in construction, engineering, or a related discipline is advantageous.
