Overview:
Peace Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading UK-wide Tier 1 Main Contractor as they look to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute and motivated individual to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality new build, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across both live and non-live environments.

With a secured pipeline of work across the Central Belt – including major developments in Edinburgh and Glasgow – this role offers long-term stability, progression, and the chance to work on technically challenging and rewarding projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account

*

Manage and mentor junior commercial staff (where applicable)

*

Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and cost reports

*

Ensure contract compliance and risk management procedures are followed

*

Work closely with project teams to manage budgets, forecasts and cost control

*

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

*

Support in procurement, tendering and subcontractor management

*

Attend site meetings and provide input on commercial strategy and delivery

What We’re Looking For:

*

Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior level

*

Strong background in main contracting – preferably Tier 1 or large regional contractor

*

Experience across a mix of project types – new build, fit-out and refurbishment

*

Solid understanding of standard forms of contract (NEC/JCT)

*

Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial reporting skills

*

Ability to work independently while being a key part of a team

*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
