The Opportunity

We’re currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading delivery partner working on the Anglian Water Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance. The role involves supporting capital maintenance and enhancement projects across both infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes throughout the Anglian Water region.

Project locations include sites across:
📍 Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Northamptonshire.

This is a pivotal, design-focused position covering the full project lifecycle—from conceptual design through to construction issue drawings. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone looking to play a key part in delivering vital water industry projects in a collaborative alliance environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate the design process from feasibility through to detailed design and construction issue.

* Manage multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and subcontractors.

* Act as the key interface between clients, internal delivery teams, and external stakeholders.

* Ensure NEC contract compliance, risk management, and change control.

* Support during construction phase: resolving technical queries, supporting handovers and O&M documentation.

* Attend design and project meetings and ensure deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Essential Requirements

* Degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or ICA Engineering (experience may be considered in lieu).

* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and water/wastewater project delivery.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

* Proficient in Office 365.

* Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and health & safety best practice.

Desirable

* Familiarity with WIMES standards.

* Experience in the utilities sector, particularly AMP or water industry frameworks.

* Knowledge of BIM and project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2).

* SMSTS or NEBOSH qualification.
