Job Title: SSSTS Working Foreman – Balustrade Installation
Location: Southwark, London
Duration: 12 weeks plus
Rate: £20 to £22 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable SSSTS-certified Working Foreman to oversee and actively participate in the installation of balustrades on a construction project in Southwark, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team, ensuring work is carried out safely, to spec, and on schedule while also taking part in hands-on installation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate a team of installers on site.

Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation.

*

Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

*

Liaise with site managers, contractors, and suppliers.

*

Carry out hands-on balustrade installation (glass, stainless steel, or other systems).

*

Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.

*

Ensure all operatives follow site rules and wear correct PPE.

*

Report progress, issues, and material needs to the site management team.

Requirements:

*

Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certificate

*

Proven experience as a working foreman in the construction industry

*

Strong background in balustrade installation (metal, glass, or architectural systems)

*

Ability to lead by example and manage small teams

*

Good understanding of H&S legislation and site procedures

*

Valid CSCS card (preferably skilled worker or supervisor level)

*

Own tools and PPE

*

Good communication and organisational skills

*

Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

*

First Aid certificate

*

Manual Handling or other H&S training

*

Familiarity with architectural drawings/CAD

*

Experience working in London construction environments
