Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £55-70k plus car allowance/company car, private healthcare, 25 days holiday

WHO IS REQUIRING THE PROJECT QUANTITY SURVEYOR:

​A well established, well known , main contractor who are experiencing an exciting growth period in Kent, are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Typical projects include Heritage, Arts, Residential, Commercial, Health and Education, ranging from £2m to £20m.

ROLE OF THE QUANTITY SURVEYOR:

This exciting Quantity Surveyor role will see you take the next step in your career working on projects ranging in value from £2m up to £15m. You will have the support of a Commercial Manager but will be expected to take commercial responsibility.

Your duties as the Quantity Surveyor will include:

* Preparation and submission of monthly valuations

* Set up initial Cost Value Report (CVR) utilising the Estimators tender summary

* Update CVR monthly and communicate figures to the Commercial Manager

* Advise internally on cash flow forecasts as necessary

* Work closely with and agree contract programmes with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager and monitor progress commercially

* Assist and resolve any client-related issues or disputes

* Review sub-contractor and Major Suppliers Commercial performance on completion of contracts, giving feedback where appropriate

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE QUANTITY SURVEYOR:

* The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have managed projects or packages circa £2m to £15m.

* Experienced in Healthcare and Commercial

* Full knowledge of JCT forms of contract

* Excellent understanding of Excel

* Excellent planning and organisation skills

* Good negotiation and communication skills

* Good time management skills

* Self motivating

* Highly numerate

* Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach

* A basic salary of £55-70k negotiable dependant on experience
