Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
📍Location: Hybrid (with some travel into London)
💰Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking a commercially driven and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high-performance façade, glazing, and cladding solutions across the residential and commercial sectors. The company works with several of the UK’s leading main contractors, delivering technically complex, design-led packages throughout London and the South East.

A key focus of the role will be on external fire remediation projects, where the business plays a crucial part in helping ensure that buildings meet or exceed current fire safety regulations, and to help prevent a tragedy like the Grenfell Tower fire from ever happening again.

This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from home, along with visits to sites and meetings in London as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of multiple façade and fire remediation projects from pre-construction to final account.

*

Manage tendering, budgeting, forecasting, valuations, and cost reporting.

*

Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, and performance.

*

Ensure commercial compliance with project contracts (primarily JCT and NEC).

*

Provide cost advice, risk analysis, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.

*

Liaise with internal project teams, clients, and contractors to resolve commercial matters.

*

Support strategic planning and decision-making at leadership level.

*

Mentor and develop junior QS team members.

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Senior or Managing QS within the façades, cladding, or similar sectors.

*

Knowledge of external fire remediation or recladding schemes. (Desirable)

*

In-depth understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

*

Knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance standards post-Grenfell.

*

Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
