Construction Commercial Manager

Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm (37.5hrs pw)
£48,000pa + profit share scheme
Our client, a successful company in the construction industry that provide a specialised product/service, are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their small but busy team based in Southam. This role will encompass liaison and administrative support to the Commercial Director.
The key responsibilities of a Commercial Manager – Construction:
* Working closely with the construction, procurement and estimating functions
* Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
* Providing commercial advice as required
* Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements, as well as undertaking and controlling costs on individual projects
* Providing cash flow forecasts on an individual project basis and for the business on a whole
* Discussing project variations with the contracts team
* Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
* Valuing completed work and arranging payments
* Producing invoices and applications for payment, submitting to the client
* Management of dispute resolution
* Ensuring overdue debts are swiftly collected and resolved
The necessary skills, qualifications and qualities of a Commercial Manager – Construction:
* Background in the construction industry, ideally in a commercial based role
* Professional construction qualifications ideal, extremely advantageous if this is surrounding quantity surveying
* Experience with billing and payments, managing commercial processes
* Understanding of the payment cycle and process in construction
* Strong team player and good under pressure
* Honest and open, confident and able to communicate on all levels
* Strong attention to detail, particularly numerical
* Strong IT skills
* Excellent project management skills
