With a growing portfolio of projects in education, healthcare, and commercial construction, they are now seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their Maidstone-based team. The role will offer the chance to work on exciting, high-profile projects ranging in value from £5m to £40m.
Role Overview:
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of one or more live projects, working closely with site teams, clients, and the wider commercial department. You’ll be expected to control costs, manage subcontractor accounts, and ensure the commercial success of your projects through accurate reporting and proactive risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all QS duties on assigned projects from pre-construction to final account.
* Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets, and valuations.
* Procure subcontractors and manage the tendering process.
* Administer contracts (JCT/NEC), ensuring full compliance and commercial protection.
* Monitor and manage variations, claims, and change control.
* Produce accurate monthly CVRs, forecasts, and reports for internal stakeholders.
* Liaise with project teams, clients, and consultants to ensure commercial alignment.
* Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering possibilities.
* Ensure timely and fair payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
* Minimum 4–6 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
* Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contract forms.
* Demonstrated experience delivering projects in the education, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage own workload and work autonomously on projects.
* Strong communication, organisation, and reporting skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software (e.g., COINS, Causeway).
* Full UK driving licence.
