LOCATION: Gravesend – Fully office based
SALARY: £50,000 – £55,000
THE COMPANY
We’re representing a leading main contractor with recruiting for a Technical Coordinator position on a permanent basis. This company have a strong reputation for delivering high-rise residential and mixed-use developments across London and the South East.
THE JOB
As Technical Coordinator you will play a vital role in shaping technically sound, commercially viable, and buildable developments from planning through to completion. This role offers progression routes onto Technical Manager as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design coordination process from Gateway 2 through to project delivery
* Review and manage high-risk building designs to ensure full compliance and buildability
* Develop project-specific design programmes aligned with procurement and construction schedules
* Coordinate structures, facades, MEP, specifications, utilities, and maintenance strategies
* Manage and monitor the performance of external consultants and specialist subcontractors
* Assist in the appointment of design consultants and develop scopes of work and technical documentation
* Chair design team meetings and workshops to ensure seamless collaboration and fully coordinated design outputs
* Oversee planning condition discharges, statutory approvals, building regulations and warranty requirements
* Identify and implement value engineering solutions and opportunities for design optimisation
* Contribute to the development of contractor proposals and ensure alignment with employers’ requirements
* Stay ahead of innovative approaches and industry trends to enhance design quality and efficiency
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Degree or higher diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or similar discipline
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical design coordination role within a contractor or developer
* Proven track record in delivering high-rise residential schemes/Gateway 2 experience
* Deep understanding of current building regulations, construction standards, and compliance requirements
* Strong technical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
* Able to work collaboratively across commercial, design, and delivery teams
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
