The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to play a crucial role as part of the commercial team, managing the financial and contractual aspects of a £100m new build high-rise residential development in Leeds. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets, conducting comprehensive tender evaluations, and administering contracts with contractors and suppliers. Through meticulous cost control and strict adherence to contractual requirements, you will contribute significantly to ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and within the established budget.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering high-rise residential projects with build values exceeding £30 million.
Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar position for a well-known contractor or subcontractor
Previous experience of operating within a Quantity Surveyor role or similar, working closely with the commercial teamKey Skills:

Procurement
Analysis of tender allowances
Liaise and report regularly into the Commercial Manager
Compiling material usage reports and reconciliation summaries
Guide and develop Junior Quantity Surveyors and other team members
Review and appraise the budgetary implications of various design proposals
Implement structured cost control processes and financial oversight measures
Attend project meetings, offering expertise and guidance on cost-related matters
Handle cash flow management and provide regular financial reports for stakeholders
Establish systems for cost reporting to monitor and manage project expenses effectively
Oversee the assessment and approval of progress payments to contractors and suppliers
Maintain up to date, precise records of all financial transactions and project documentation
Perform in-depth cost analyses and comprehensive feasibility studies for proposed projects
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors
Control and monitor project expenditures, overseeing alignment with the budgetary constraints
Oversee the financial implications of design changes and negotiate any necessary adjustments
Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for the project and incorporate them into the planning phase
Create cost plans and projections, overseeing efficient budget management throughout the duration of the project
Engage and negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraints
Maintain strict adherence to all contract terms, conditions, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining alignment with project goals and client expectations
Ensure all financial matters are settled and effectively closed out, maintaining meticulous records for comprehensive project closure
