Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for a leading national architectural firm who are seeking an experienced Architect to join their successful Birmingham office.

Under the leadership of a Project Director, you will be responsible for planning and designing buildings and land areas with regard to functional and aesthetic requirements, budgets and timescales. Within this role, it is important to maintain effective working relationships, understand where your skillset fits within the team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the project.

Key Responsibilities

Take receipt of a brief from an AHR Manager and with only limited intervention from them, develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of AHR's Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and AHR's Deliverables and DRM
Achieve efficient and effective designs using robust and sustainable design solutions
Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
Choose or advise on material selection
Author specifications using AHR's NBS Masters. Source and evidence supporting and up-to-date technical information from manufacturers
Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (Planning Applications / Gateway submissions / Building Regulations etc)
Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with AHR ProtocolsCandidates welcome to apply for the role will have the following:

ARB registered Architect
Proven commercial and contractual awareness
Advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
Good knowledge of Autodesk Revit
Routine use of Newforma Project Centre for managing email, creating, issuing and preserving record documents and sharing filesIn return you will receive the following:
