An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the build operations of a growing construction business delivering a mix of residential and commercial projects. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for the construction team and the successful delivery of projects from start to finish.

The Role:

As Construction Manager, you will oversee all practical aspects of the build process across multiple sites, managing the internal team and subcontractors to ensure delivery is on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You’ll play a critical role in planning, resourcing, compliance, team leadership, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

🏗 Team & Operational Leadership

Manage the day-to-day performance of the construction/build team

*

Organise work schedules, monitor productivity, and resolve disputes

*

Conduct regular team meetings and CPD support

*

Lead recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new team members

*

Work closely with HR to address staff issues and performance

🔨 Project Delivery

*

Take ownership of construction activity from handover to completion

*

Oversee the creation and delivery of detailed build programmes

*

Conduct site visits, interpret technical drawings, and manage quality standards

*

Liaise with third parties including clients, consultants, subcontractors, warranty providers, and building control

*

Manage site health & safety, RAMS, and compliance documentation

📊 Planning & Budget Management

*

Track project finances, productivity, and deadlines

*

Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts, variations, and estimates

*

Procure plant, materials, and resources aligned to the construction schedule

*

Prepare reports, site documentation, and progress updates for stakeholders

*

Support in resolving disputes and escalating issues as needed

🤝 Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Represent the business in site meetings and inspections

*

Ensure proactive communication to maintain strong client relationships

*

Act on feedback and provide evidence of resolution

*

Promote the company’s reputation through high-quality project delivery

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Construction Manager in residential or mixed-use projects

*

Excellent understanding of build processes, health & safety, and regulatory compliance

*

Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously

*

Experience with programming, procurement, budgeting, and reporting

*

Full UK driving licence (essential)
