Assistant Quantity Surveyor – East London – Commercial

We are currently partnering with a family-owned Main contractor with a strong presence across the London Area and the home counties. They operate across a range of sectors including commercial (light industrial), community, education (state owned and private owned schools / facilities), health, heritage, residential (private and public), leisure and the Performing Arts.

Due to continued success, they are now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in East London.

Responsibilities

* Cost Management & Budget Control:

Assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and value engineering across sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential.

* Procurement Support:

Support the procurement process by preparing tender documentation, analysing subcontractor quotes, and assisting with contract formation for projects spanning heritage, leisure, and performing arts facilities.

* Valuations & Payments:

Prepare interim valuations, process subcontractor payment applications, and maintain accurate financial records in line with contract requirements and project timelines.

* Variation & Change Control:

Identify, track, and assist in valuing variations and changes across diverse project types, ensuring timely agreement with clients and subcontractors while maintaining commercial control.

* Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with site teams, senior QSs, clients, and consultants to support the successful delivery of projects across London, maintaining clear communication and assisting with cost-related documentation.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualification

Must have 1+ years’ post graduation experience

Must live in or within a commutable distance of East London
