Job Title: Health & Safety / CDM Advisor – Residential Construction

💷 Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance + Benefits

About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety / CDM Advisor to support our Professional Services Team on a variety of residential-led developments across London and the South East. This is a key role involving project CDM leadership, advisory support across design and construction phases, and a strong focus on compliance, risk management, and safety standards.

You will lead on CDM-driven projects, support project surveyors in identifying and mitigating hazards, and ensure best practice in line with CDM 2015, ISO standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue Pre-Construction Information and Construction Phase Plans

Develop Designer Risk Assessments and maintain Risk Registers

*

Submit and manage F10 Notifications

*

Attend Design Team Meetings and resolve design-related health and safety concerns

*

Conduct CDM audits, site visits, and progress meetings

*

Compile and deliver Health & Safety Files at project handover

*

Provide clear and competent advice to clients, designers, and contractors across all project stages

*

Champion HSEQ and ISO initiatives, ensuring compliance and driving best practice

Required Qualifications & Memberships:
✅ TechIOSH (minimum) – ideally CMIOSH (Chartered status)
✅ IMaPS or AaPS (Association for Project Safety)
✅ NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health & Safety (Essential)
✅ Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations

Desirable:

Knowledge or qualifications in Fire Safety or Building Safety

First Aid at Work

*

Familiarity with BIM and digital construction tools

Experience:
✔ Proven experience working in the residential construction sector
✔ Demonstrable background in a Principal Designer or CDM Advisor role
✔ Strong communication skills and confidence to lead meetings and challenge stakeholders
✔ Ability to manage a varied workload independently, while reporting to senior or director level
✔ Understanding of commercial and business needs in a consultancy or client-side environment
✔ Additional sector experience (e.g., commercial, education, healthcare) is advantageous
✔ Experience in fire and building safety compliance is desirable
