The role
MMP Consultancy is currently looking for a New Disrepair Surveyor to join one of our clients in East London. This is a permanent opportunity paying £51,800 + Benefits.

You'll deliver a quality, resident-focused Disrepair Surveyor Service working collaboratively with internal and external Legal Counsel, external contractors, and internal departments. You'll assist the team in ensuring that a high-quality service is delivered to help with the groups efficiencies to comply with relevant policies, legal and regulatory requirements. You'll be proactive in monitoring performance, meeting KPI's and taking decisive action to ensure issues are addressed. It is important that you're able to address and resolve complex disrepair cases within a timely manner.
Your main base will be our client offices in East London, with regular travel across London. You'll have the option for working in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager.
What you'll have

A detailed knowledge of the legal disrepair process
Experience in property maintenance with detailed knowledge of housing construction, disrepair & maintenance service delivery
Experience in maintenance surveying with ability to: diagnose complex site problems; propose practical solutions; prepare costed specifications; manage contracts and project manage to resolution, contractors, operatives and site works; demonstrate excellent awareness of costs, value for money and health & safety risks
Knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice
The ability to be attentive to detail when writing specifications, checking work and materials
Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle
Purpose of your role:
To deliver a quality, resident-focused, comprehensive, and co-ordinated Disrepair Surveyor Service working heavily and collaboratively with internal and external legal Counsel, external contractors, and internal departments. To ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to help with the groups efficiencies without compromise to comply with relevant policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
To be proactive in monitoring performance, meeting KPI's and taking decisive action to ensure issues are addressed. Can address and resolve complex disrepair cases, within a timely manner. Ability and sight to be able to challenge any claim where deemed necessary, accountable for financial forecasting within existing protocols and record keeping; raising payments to all parties; travel to site and provide comprehensive condition survey reports that can be held up to scrutiny should a case go to court; follow through all work to ensure it has been completed; negotiation skills relating to settlement and compensation
