Hill McGlynn is pleased to be working in partnership with a respected regional main contractor based in Maidstone, known for delivering high-quality industrial steel frame and new build construction projects. With a growing project portfolio that also includes fit-out and refurbishment works, our client is looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of a range of interesting projects. You will manage budgets, subcontractors, and reporting while ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Overseeing the financial management of industrial, new build, and fit-out projects

* Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions

* Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Subcontractor procurement and management

* Producing cost reports and forecasts for senior management

* Ensuring compliance with contractual terms (JCT or similar)

* Working closely with operational teams to support project delivery

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the main contracting sector

* Proven track record on industrial steel frame, new build, and fit-out/refurbishment projects

* Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
